The American Athletic Conference released its men’s basketball schedule Friday afternoon, and SMU will open conference play Dec. 16 at home against East Carolina.

In a first for the AAC, the overall format consists of a 20-game, double round-robin conference schedule for each AAC team. The AAC Tournament will take place March 11-14 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. All of the conference tournament games are expected to be aired on an ESPN affiliate.
