Remember when Texas CB Brandon Crossley was supposed to commit on Friday, Aug. 10? Obviously, nothing transpired on those grounds.
Last Thursday, The Hill Topics reported that the 3-star prospect -- who named SMU, Texas Tech and TCU as his three finalists -- was set on picking the Red Raiders. He made the decision around 6 p.m. local time, but that was before a call to the Texas Tech staff. Tech informed Crossley that space was limited at the moment and to hold off until they could try to create a spot for him. Hence, Crossley said he was going to take all of his official visits first, then make a decision.
Crossley's delayed decision opened a line of communication with multiple SMU coaches, who had a lengthy talk with the cornerback. Now, SMU is feeling very good about where it sits with Crossley and they are expecting him to commit much sooner. In fact, be on the lookout for a commitment at some point this week or weekend from the highly regarded cornerback. He would instantly be the top DB in the Mustangs' 2019 recruiting class, which is riding momentum this summer.
Stick with the Hill Topics for more on Crossley and a possible commitment in the near future.
