Keys To Enjoying A Great Day Of SMU FootballSMU Announces Upgrades & Changes For 2015 Gamedays

DALLAS (SMU)- Mustang Football is just a few weeks away and SMU Athletics has all the details you need to know for a great gameday on the Hilltop. Thanks to a small re-route, SMU fans will now have an even greater opportunity to take part in the football team's pre-game Mustang Walk, giving fans the chance to greet the Mustangs as they arrive on campus prior to the game. SMU started the walks last season, but a change in the route will now allow the team to march down the length of the Boulevard.

The Mustang Walk starts approximately two hours and 45 minutes prior to kickoff. The walk will begin near Dallas Hall and then go through the student area of the Main Quad. The team will then march down the Boulevard before making a left at the Meadows Museum and heading north into the Loyd Center and their locker room. SMU hopes to have hundreds of fans lining Bishop Boulevard prior to each game as the team arrives for battle.In-stadium, SMU has made additions to its concessions offerings. The South End Zone Grill will offer hot-off-the-grill hamburgers and foot-long hotdogs with Texas-centric toppings, while the concourse next to Sections 103 & 203 will have a new Craft Beer Stand that will offer local brews such as Fireman's Four, Deep Ellum Dallas Blonde, Grapevine Monarch and Grapevine Sir Williams.

For families, the south plaza will also feature the Family Zone, an area with inflatables and other kid-friendly entertainment.

To accommodate student requests, SMU has added a new Student Tent to the South Plaza that will be located in the southeast corner of Ford Stadium, adjacent to the relocated SMU Mustang Band and student sections.

On the Boulevard, the pre-game party is bigger and better than ever! For fans without a Boulevard spot, Mustang Alley offers a great pre-game option. Located at the southeast corner of Bishop and Binkley at the former site of Perkins Natatorium, a variety of food vendors will offer food and drink options, and fans can pre-game in the heart of the action. Mustang Alley will open three hours prior to kickoff at each home game, and food vendors and bars will close thirty minutes prior to kickoff.

A key change for 2015 is the new clear bag policy that will be enforced at Ford Stadium. As at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, the only permitted bags will be those made of clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC which do not exceed 12 x 6 x 12 inches, one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc or similar) or small clutch bags (approximately the size of a hand), with or without a handle or strap. All bags except those approved under the clear bag policy are prohibited. Additionally, all fans will also be subject to security wanding prior to entering the stadium.
