I was out at practice early today but didn't get any interviews done before LB showed up. LB did not have much to report other than Tim Jankovich and Jonathan Wilfong are both battling colds right now. I also took a few notes at practice:
Director of Player Development George Lynch was using a pad to push Ben Moore when he was posting up during practice; looks like SMU is trying to toughen up Moore, who had a good day shooting from midrange on Tuesday.Yanick Moreira had a tough practice on Tuesday. The one highlight was he completed a lob from Ryan Manuel but otherwise he did not show a lot of positives. His midrange (along with Markus Kennedy's) was clanking off the rim repeatedly during shooting drills and he turned the ball over when he made a pass that was so low it bounced off Sterling Brown's feet. He also could not control a pass when Nic Moore founding him sprinting up the court in transition. On another positive note, Yanick did practice his free throws during water breaks.K.T. Turner was back at practice and was yelling at the team, trying to get them to work as hard in practice as they would during a game.Manuel was still shooting well from midrange but could not find his stroke from three-point range.Ben Emelogu had the play of practice when he hit a floater in the lane over the out-stretched arms of Cannen Cunningham.The team worked on defending entry passes.
