Hey y'all, it's time for me to announce the latest member of the HillTopics' staff, Dacota Taylor! Welcome Dacota both on here and on Twitter at @DacotaTaylor!
Here is Dacota's bio:
Dacota Taylor is a December 2014 Southern Methodist University graduate with a degree in journalism and a minor in sport management.
Dacota is an experienced reporter with work ranging from working the 2012 elections with the Associated Press, to producing packages for the opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library, co-producing a special JFK Commemorative show and then covering the event from location, and finally helping lead The Daily Update and co-produce content from Austin for SMU-TV's 2014 Midterm Election coverage.
He lead SMU-TV and The Daily Update as its news director in the Fall of 2013, and later as its assignments editor in the Fall of 2014. He helped lead on-campus stories involving the retirement of former head coach June Jones and the hiring of his replacement Chad Morris for SMU-TV, and even shot exclusive footage to break a kidnapping-related story on campus that was later picked up by the local stations of Dallas.
Dacota has interned with WFAA Channel 8 in Dallas, and KLTV Channel 7 in Tyler, Texas, and done freelance work for AfterBuzz TV in Los Angeles.
