I have ordered 4 tickets to the Regionals and Final Four via the SMU ticket office. I will unfortunately be in Asia for the sub-regionals. The current ESPN bracket has us in the region with Virginia #1 and Villanova #2, which means that according to ESPN, we are supposedly the best of the #6 seeds (they rank the Virginia as 4th best #1 so that means each seed in that region is the top for that #). That quadrant is the most likely to provide a Cinderella to the Final Four, so I really hope we stay there and avoid Duke and Kentucky.
No matter what happens, this has been a breakout year and next year actually looks better for the team with Tolbert, Frazier and the Duke transfer being there, along with Markus if he decides to come back. Having Barfield as a true backup PG will also take pressure off of Nic. We just need a big or two to ensure the long term (3-4 year) future of the program.
