Quarterback Shane Buechele and wide receiver Reggie Roberson were among the eight student-athletes recognized by Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine with superlatives at their positions, as DCTF announced its 2020 Preseason All-Texas College Team on Wednesday.
Buechele was named "Best Quarterback," while Roberson was named "Best Receiver" by DCTF. A full copy of the accolades can be viewed here.
Buechele, Roberson, tight end Kylen Granson and offensive tackle Jaylon Thomas were named First Team All-Texas College. Linebacker Richard McBryde was named Second Team All-Texas College. Defensive tackle Mike Williams, a transfer from Stanford, also was named a second-team selection.
SMU's six selections was the most among Group of Five programs, edging out Houston, which had four. The team featured 52 athletes from 12 schools in the Lone Star State.
