For the first time in 37 years, SMU will have a player to grace the cover of Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine.
DCTF early Monday afternoon announced that Shane Buechele will be the cover of the 2020 magazine. He is the first Mustang since Lance McIlhenny in 1983 to grace the DCTF cover.
Buechele threw for 3,929 yards and 34 touchdowns and led SMU to a 10-3 record during the 2019 season. It was the first 10-win season for the Mustangs since the 1984 season.
