Chad Morris:
Morris began the press conference giving his thoughts on Blake Carlisle and his family.
"These last 33 months connect the past to the future. I knew this was going to be a tough process. We talk to our guys about respecting the past so they can understand where we're headed.
A lot of guys showed resilience, they picked on Eric Sutton early but he never gave up and never flinched.
This has been a tough week after we left several opportunities on the field last week.
This was the most critical week that we've had since I've been here.
The hustle of Jordan Wyatt might've been the play of the 33 months that I've been here. To trip the guy up so we could recover the fumble, that says so much about where we are as a program.
We missed some kicks and those are things we have to work on.
I asked these guys to focus, fight and finish empty and i think we saw that today.
I felt this game was going to be pivotal so this was My team that i took during the summer study when we each took a team and studied them.
We knew we could come in and run the ball but we didn't know how they were going to cover Courtland.
Coach Traylor does a great job with the backs. They were fresh and anytime you can do that it makes you really explosive.
Looking at our schedule, you felt like to get out of non-conference play with a win would be huge. Especially defending Ford and playing well at home.
*I asked Morris if he was happy with Ben Hicks' performance*
"I thought we were doing a good job protecting Hicks. The deep one to Courtland and another one out wide, we wish we could have those back but I'm excited and proud of where this football team is."
You'd have to cut off Jordan Wyatt's arm to keep him off the field."
James Proche (3 catches, 131 yards, 2 TDs):
"We have so many weapons so we knew there were going to be games where a different one of us steps up each time.
The 3-headed monster of running backs is really ridiculous.
If you're in one-on-one coverage against us you're asking for us to score.
Ben Hicks is my guy. I have his back 24/7
We took their best punch at the beginning and it wasn't enough, the storm came and we took over.
I'm proud of Courtland for getting a rushing touchdown.
Ben Hicks looks like Peyton Manning running the ball, he's a gun slinger not a runner. "
