Center Alan Ali has been a catalyst for the SMU offensive line since his arrival. He's played in 29 games in three seasons and has started 25.

On Wednesday, Ali was named to the Rimington Trophy Award Watch List. It's a deserved honor for the 6-4, 303-pound junior from Keller Timber Creek High School. After spending his freshman year at left guard, he moved to center last season and has started the last 12 games as the player hiking the ball to Shane Buechele.

The Rimington Trophy is awarded each year to college football's top center. Click here to see all of the players nominated from each conference. The release is courtesy of the Rimington Trophy Committee.
