(If I got any details wrong, I apologize. The key is to focus on the trend - not the details.)
In summary: We showed up to the Spring Game with:
1) Three CBs - total!!
2) The OL was so depleted that McNeil got significant reps.
3) I cannot understand how our 4th string QB managed to get injured and miss the entire Spring.
Bottom Line: With every position up for grabs, it seems like we had 10-15 guy out. First, that seems abnormally high. Second, unless surgery or a concussion was involved, why weren't our guys out there fighting for PT in the Fall? They had 4 months to resolve any nagging injuries.
With so much to do to fix the defense: Brent Freeman (who doesn't appear to have played a single down in Junior College - http://northcentralcardinals.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6901&path=) ended up tied for the lead in tackles. #WTF
