On Monday, the SMU basketball team got news that Feron Hunt will return for his junior year after declaring for the NBA Draft. Hunt was one of two Mustangs who chose to test the NBA waters.
SMU and fans now wait for the decision of that second athlete.

Isiaha Mike declared for the draft at the end of March, and in speaking with a source very close to Mike, the 6-8 forward is continuing to weigh his options. He is taking his time, as the deadline for draft-eligible players to withdraw from the draft and maintain their college eligibility is Aug. 3 -- or 10 days after the NBA Draft Combine -- whichever happens first.

Per the source, Mike is being patient because he feels he has a legitimate shot to make a team. He is well aware that he still has roughly six weeks to finalize his plans, so there is no major rush to make any announcements.

Mike, who is from Scarborough, Ontario, is still in Canada and was not among the players who returned to campus on Monday. He could return very soon -- and if he does, expect him to return for his senior season with the Mustangs.

Mike started all 30 games for SMU last season. He averaged 14.0 points and 6.3 rebounds for SMU. He shot 48% from the field and, as a 6-8 stretch four, connected on 38% from the 3-point line as a junior.

In two seasons on the Hilltop, he's started all 62 games played and needs six points to reach the 800-point mark.
