SMU cracked the top seven for Denton Guyer four-star cornerback Deuce Harmon earlier today. Harmon had SMU in with Texas A&M, Texas, TCU, Oregon, Notre Dame and USC.
It's another small win for SMU as it continues to compete with Power 5 programs for elite talent. Harmon has 20-plus offers, including Baylor, Cal, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Oklahoma State. It says something for SMU being the only Group of 5 school in the top seven.
The next step will be to ultimately win Harmon over. Right now, it is believed that Texas A&M is in the driver's seat, but you can bet the SMU staff will remain on him. He's being recruited by cornerbacks coach Kevin Curtis.
