--- Fort Worth All Saints Episcopan DT Michael Williams hasn't released a top 10 yet, but he said on Thursday that Texas will make the cut:
Williams was hoping to visit UT last weekend but his plans fell through. He's now planning to visit Texas sometime in July.
Texas is in within striking distance here, but Williams told me this week that Stanford is leading the rest of the pack. TCU, Ohio State and SMU are also schools being considered, in addition to those mentioned in his tweet.
I asked Williams how big Stanford's lead is over the other programs ...
"It's not that big. I'm not even in the school yet. I still have to do the admissions thing. So that'll be big. And that's kind of far away. I have things to think about." (Suchomel)
---Chris Robison/Mesquite Horn
Quick note: Robison has outperformed Robinson in a couple of passing camps the last couple of weeks, which says more about the developing skills of the 6-1, 180-pound Robison than anything negative about Robinson.
Key offers: TCU, SMU, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State
Breakdown: The Longhorns are in the mix, but TCU and SMU are the strong early leaders.
Key quote: (From OB on 6/5) “Those two (TCU and SMU) stand out. They’re close to home and that’s a really big part of it. And they’re nice people.”
---Sam Ehlinger/Austin Westlake
Quick note: Personally, I think this kid is much further ahead of Nick Foles at the same time of their careers. One of my favorite players in the state.
Key offers: Houston and SMU
Breakdown: There’s some thought that no quarterback in this class is more hot to trot for Texas than Ehlinger. Is Shawn Watson falls for the hometown kid, I think Ehlinger becomes a Longhorn.
---Tylan Wallace/Fort Worth South Hills
Quick note: Wallace’s stock hasn’t blown up yet, but it will, as he rated as one of the premier offensive players in the state.
Key offers: Houston, SMU, Tulsa and Vanderbilt
Breakdown: Wallace’s twin brother Tracin is one of the state’s top quarterback prospects, so while the recruitment is just beginning to unfold, you’d have to think both will attend the same school.
