Per source, SMU is hiring Jamal Powell as the OL coach and potentially also as the RB coach/run game coordinator.

Powell was with Lamar for a season, and before that, he led James Madison to their first championship title. JMU's offense set records for scoring, rushing offense, total offense and first downs in 2016.
Lamar went 2-9 in 2017.
