I remember him showing up on signing day, or right around there, as if out of the blue. Looked through the Rivals archives and there were no SMU specific articles, but his profile claims some decent BCS/P5 offers. He took some last second visits and seemed nonchalant in the articles about a decision as NSD loomed. Never mentioned SMU in the half dozen updates I read.
So how the hell did we get him? I wouldn't say he was under the radar. Was it because teams didn't know where to play him? The articles on his profile page mention teams were looking at him a bunch of different positions, most on defense, from DB, S, LB, DE! and of course WR.
Was it a grade thing he was waiting on and spots filled up at other schools?
My working theory is he just played it out so long, or didn't have an urgency to commit, that he waited too long and SMU was the best option he had a week before NSD.
