Many of us saw the commitment video for Houston three-star all-purpose back Kendal Taylor, which he posted early Wednesday evening. In case you missed it, here it is.

The big question for now is simple: Is he a take?
Sources say that while Taylor announced his pledge, there's still concern as to whether or not he'll be a part of the class. One source even mentioned that he was somewhat surprised Taylor committed.
That's not to say Taylor can play the game. He has rushed for 1,521 yards and 20 touchdowns for a Spring Westfield team that is 13-1 and preparing for a UIL Class 6A Division II state-semifinal matchup against Denton Guyer on Saturday.
For now, we'll say that there are some things that need to happen in order for the commitment to be a go on all accounts. We'll keep you posted as we learn more.

Offensive tackle Erin Smith has been committed to SMU since early June. With the early signing period starting next week, the big question now is: Can SMU sign him?
Smith has been reported to take an official visit this weekend to Arkansas. It'll be a visit to keep a major eye on, as Smith is from Little Rock, Arkansas.
Smith met with head coach Sonny Dykes and offensive line coach AJ Ricker earlier this week, and all implications were the visit went well. But with Fayetteville a lot closer to Little Rock than University Park -- and with Smith being a proud Arkansas resident -- SMU is hoping to hold on to one of its top-ranked linemen pledges in the 11th hour.

Diboll, Texas, defensive lineman Herbert Gums committed to Boise State early Thursday afternoon. He was very interested in SMU, but he never publicly reported an SMU offer.

I don't expect Gums to waver with his decision. At 6-2 and 280 pounds, he will be a good addition to Boise State's roster and should wreak havoc in the Mountain West Conference.
