Connected with some sources from SMU, and this week could be the week that we see the debut of graduate transfer defensive tackle Mike Williams.
The former Stanford standout originally opted out of the season because of COVID-19 but has decided to play. SMU has been one of the nation's best in regards to maintaining COVID-19 protocol.
Williams, if he does indeed suit up Saturday, will be a huge addition for the defensive line. He provides leadership and is able to take on double teams, which will serve as an advantage for the rush ends and outside linebackers. His Pac-12 experience should prove worthy as SMU prepares for AAC play.
Keep an eye on No. 57 on the defensive side of the ball Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.
