Hearing very positive reports regarding the athletes who are currently on their official visits. Quarterback/athlete Raylen Sharpe and offensive lineman Ben Sparks are already committed to SMU. Also on official visits are Blinn College wide receiver and TCU commit Danny Gray, as well as Marshall wide receiver/athlete Savion Williams.
We hope to have more info on the officials later today.

SMU has 11 commits in the 2020 class as of late Sunday morning. Look for most of the commits to sign on Wednesday, the first day of the December signing period.
A friendly reminder: The early signing period runs Wednesday through Friday. If a 2020 pledge chooses, he can wait until signing during the regular period, which starts Feb. 5. To add, the first day a mid-year junior college transfer can sign also is Wednesday.
Look for Tyler Junior College offensive lineman to sign Wednesday. Also, expect Midland Lee safety and the offensive linemen tandem of Stafford's Marcus Smith, Round Rock Cedar Ridge's Marcus Bryant and El Dorado, Arkansas' Dalton Perdue to sign Wednesday.
Jordan is someone I'm really looking forward to watching next season. He is extremely excited about joining SMU and rejoining a former teammate. He and left tackle Jaylon Thomas were high school teammates in Lubbock at Coronado High School
How excited is Jordan? He went to Twitter and posted his current academic status. "Passed all 19 hours this semester," he said.

Stanford defensive tackle Michael Williams returned to the Dallas-Fort Worth area early this past week, and he made it to the SMU campus over the weekend. Consider it an unofficial visit for Williams, who recently entered the transfer portal.
Williams hasn't received his official release from Stanford, which means reporters aren't allowed to go on the record with him publicly about SMU. But sources have told me that Williams not only had a great visit but also is really considering SMU for his future destination. He graduates from Stanford in the spring with a degree in communications and a minor in sociology.
Playing close to home for his final year of eligibility is something that can play a major role in his ultimate decision. A strong bowl finish by SMU on Saturday can be a strong X-factor in him choosing the Mustangs. It's a decision he's expected to make around mid-January.
For SMU, having Williams join the staff would be a perfect scenario. The Mustangs are losing a handful of seniors on the defensive line, including tackles Zach Abercrumbia, Demerick Gary and Pono Davis.

One guy to keep an eye on for the next few hours is Erin Smith. The offensive tackle from North Little Rock, Arkansas, reportedly expected to take an official visit to Arkansas this past weekend, didn't make the trip. That's huge for SMU, which is hoping Smith will sign on Wednesday.
Getting Smith signed obviously is the primary goal for SMU. If he chooses to sign during the regular period in February, that could mean the Mustangs end up battling a few schools looking to add to their respective classes late.
Smith has been committed to SMU since June 9. He had an in-home visit with the SMU coaching staff early last week.
